My work today is rooted in two powerful experiences: nearly 20 years spent working within physician assistant education and a personal journey that reshaped how I think about health, resilience, and leadership. During my time in PA education, I have seen the extraordinary dedication faculty bring to their programs—but I’ve also seen the emotional strain that often accompanies the work. Strive365 was created to help faculty and program leaders strengthen the emotional intelligence, resilience, and communication skills needed to thrive in one of the most demanding roles in higher education.
Doctor of Health Science-Leadership & Organizational Behavior (DHSc)
Masters in Public Administration (MPA)
Certified Consultant – EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Assessment
National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC)
Certified Coach in Nutrition, Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery (PN1)
Strive365 was created to support professionals working in demanding environments where leadership, communication, and resilience are essential for long-term success.
In particular, the work I do today focuses on supporting physician assistant (PA) faculty and program leaders as they navigate the unique pressures of academic medicine.
PA education is deeply meaningful work—but it is also emotionally demanding. Faculty are responsible not only for teaching, but also for mentoring students, navigating accreditation standards, supporting colleagues, and maintaining high-performing academic programs.
Through workshops and coaching focused on emotional intelligence and resilience, Strive365 helps faculty and leadership teams strengthen communication, manage stress more effectively, and build healthier program cultures.
My academic background reflects a long-standing interest in how individuals and organizations perform under pressure. I hold:
• a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science
• a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA)
• a Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) with emphasis in leadership and organizational behavior
This training has shaped my work at the intersection of health, leadership development, and organizational culture.
Over the years, my professional focus has expanded to include how emotional intelligence influences the way individuals lead, communicate, and collaborate in demanding professional environments.
To support this work, I am certified as a consultant and coach in the EQ-i 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Assessment, one of the most widely used and scientifically validated emotional intelligence assessments in the world.
I am also a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach through the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching.
Additional certifications include training in coaching related to:
• nutrition
• sleep
• stress management
• recovery
These areas continue to inform my work, particularly when helping professionals develop sustainable resilience in high-pressure roles.
My interest in resilience and well-being is not only academic—it is also deeply personal.
In 2018, I experienced a significant health scare that forced me to confront the consequences of years spent neglecting my own physical and emotional well-being.
Like many professionals working in demanding careers, I had gradually placed my own health at the bottom of the priority list.
The experience became a powerful turning point.
The thought of leaving my wife without a husband and my children without their father created a moment of clarity that led me to reevaluate how I approached health, work, and life.
Since that time, I have come to view adversity in a different way.
Challenges can become opportunities for growth, reflection, and transformation—if we are willing to learn from them.
That perspective continues to shape the way I approach both coaching and professional development today.
In addition to my formal training, I bring nearly two decades of experience working directly within PA education.
Having spent years in the day-to-day environment of academic programs, I understand many of the challenges PA faculty face, including:
These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the emotional complexity of the work performed by PA educators. They have also reinforced how important it is for faculty and leaders to have the skills needed to navigate interpersonal dynamics, manage stress effectively, and maintain strong professional relationships within their programs.
Technical expertise alone is rarely what determines whether a team thrives.
More often, success depends on how individuals communicate, handle pressure, and work through difficult situations together.
Emotional intelligence provides the foundation for these abilities.
Through the use of emotional intelligence assessments, workshops, and coaching, my goal is to help professionals better understand how their emotional responses influence:
When individuals develop these skills, the benefits often extend beyond the individual to strengthen the entire culture of the team or organization.
Through Strive365, I provide several types of professional development services:
These programs are designed to be practical, reflective, and immediately applicable to the challenges participants face in their professional roles.
My goal is simple:
To help professionals develop the awareness, resilience, and communication skills needed to thrive in demanding environments.
Whether through workshops, coaching, or assessment-based development, I believe individuals and teams have tremendous capacity to grow stronger when they intentionally invest in their development.
If you are interested in exploring how emotional intelligence development could support your team or organization, I would welcome the opportunity to connect.
